Garden Maintenance

Polite Gardens offers thoughtful, sustainable garden maintenance tailored to each space and season. Services focus on hands-on care like manual weeding, seasonal pruning, thinning, and transplanting to keep gardens healthy and thriving.

While ongoing maintenance services are currently at capacity, Polite Gardens is accepting clients for one-time cleanups, refreshes, and personalized coaching for DIY gardeners looking to build confidence and care for their own spaces with expert guidance.

Social Horticulture facilitator

Polite Gardens offers social horticulture experiences that use nature to support connection, learning, and overall well-being. As a horticultural facilitator, these services complement clinical care and may be developed alongside licensed mental health practitioners to provide nature-based psychoeducation.

Through guided, accessible experiences, participants are invited to reduce stress and reconnect with the natural world in a non-intimidating way. Offerings include individual sessions, small group experiences, and team-based retreats, all designed to meet people where they are.

Programs are hosted in nature-connected, inclusive environments such as botanical gardens, forests, nurseries, and plant shops to create meaningful and welcoming experiences for all.

How do you combine the love and art of gardening, haircare and music? You make a growing mixtape.  Garden My Hair is a memoir/manual/mixtape cultivated by gardener Ami Polite. From a small sprout in the middle of the South Bronx of New York to maturing in the wide-open Great Plains of Nebraska in the late 90s and early 2000s, Ami took her frustrations of Midwest living and natural haircare and directed it toward gardening.
